Platelet-rich plasma is a part of our blood which consists of different growth factors (signaling molecules between cells). Once your blood has been taken, the processed platelets are separated from your other blood cells before it gets injected back into an area of your body.
The treatment can be used to stimulate hair growth; reduce dark circles and eyebags; rejuvenate the face through wrinkle reduction, plumping and tightening; as well as aiding wound healing and scar removal.
Because PRP contains substances that come directly from your own body, there is little risk of experiencing an allergic reaction. However, like other injectable procedures, you may experience bruising or tenderness at the injection site, and there is a risk of infection.
